Vegan Summer Smoothie Bowls

Smoothie bowls are a delicious way to start the day, have a quick snack, or even as a dessert. With summer right around the corner, there are all sorts of ingredients you can use to spruce up your everyday smoothie bowl with summer fruits and other delicious bits. Here are some vegan smoothie bowl recipes and sides to get you excited about the upcoming months of sun.
Vegan Summer Smoothie Bowls

Ingredients:
¼ Cup Avocado
2 Medium Bananas (frozen)
1 Cup Fresh or Frozen Berries
2 Large Handfuls of Spinach
1 Small Handful of Kale
1 ⅔ Cups of Unsweetened Non-Dairy Milk (almond, soy, rice, etc.)
1 Tablespoon of Flaxseed Meal
2 Tablespoons of Almond or Peanut Butter
Hemp Seeds
Fresh Berries
Shredded Coconut
Nuts of Your Choosing
Granola
Method:
To have a delicious smoothie bowl you will need to blend all of the smoothie ingredients together. So grab your blender of choice and combine the ripe avocado, bananas, spinach, kale, non-dairy milk, flaxseed meal, and nut butter (peanut or almond is tasty). The bananas do need to be frozen as that is what will give your smoothie bowl that thick icy smoothie texture. If you find that your smoothie is too thick you can add more of the milk to thin it out, just be mindful you do not add too much as nobody likes a watery smoothie!

You may find that your smoothie is not sweet enough for you. A natural sweetener like maple syrup or honey is a good alternative to sugar if you want a bit more sweetness. Also, if you want to make your smoothie a darker green more spinach will give it the desired color. If you want more protein just add some more nut butter. Have fun with the ingredients to see what tastes the best to you.

Once your smoothie is blended to perfection, choose two bowls that have a fairly high edge and pour it between the two of them evenly. Now, you can choose your toppings. For the summer months, fresh berries like strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries make excellent toppings and they add a bit of color to the mix. You can also sprinkle on some shredded coconut, mixed nuts, granola, and anything else that appeals to you. Now it is ready to eat, don’t forget to take a picture of it! If you find that you have some leftover smoothie you can place it in your fridge to eat the next day too.
