The Unbreakable Friendship of Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz

Both Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz had very different beginnings in life, but this didn’t stop them from becoming best friends and helping each other overcome heartache and difficulty. They quickly learned that together they could be better.
Cameron grew up in the suburbs of long beach California, and while her family didn’t have a lot of money, they were incredibly happy because at least they had each other. Despite Cameron’s incredible beauty, she was still friendly, happy and humble.
Compared to Cameron, Drew had a more difficult childhood and was forced into acting at 11 months old by her mother. Drew achieved a great deal of fame and attention for her roles in various movies. But by age 9, Drew’s mother had become more of a business partner than a mother.
At age 14 Drew had hit rock bottom and found herself in rehab but she never gave up and after completing treatment, Drew realized she had to end her toxic relationship with her mother. At this point, Hollywood had forgotten the child actor and if she ever hoped to act again, Drew would have to overcome her demons.

Drew and Cameron met when they were teenagers and almost immediately Drew looked up to the older Cameron. They became great friends and it was through their friendship that Drew learned an important lesson. Drew began to understand that even if you are beautiful and famous you can still treat people with kindness and grace. She also learnt that she was worthy of love whether she was a Hollywood star or not. Slowly, all of the wounds from Drew’s childhood began to heal and with Cameron’s support Drew eventually started to act again.
Cameron found that even though she had confidence in the direction her life was moving in, she wasn’t able to completely trust the people closest to her and when it came to her love life, this meant that it was hard for her to settle down. When asked during an interview why she wasn’t married yet, Cameron explained “I’m a commitment-phobe. I just don’t want to do it”. Of course, this only fueled press rumors about Cameron.
When more of Cameron’s relationships failed, she spoke about wanting to give up on love, but her best friend Drew wouldn’t let her. Drew told Cameron that despite her own failed relationships she never gave up on love.
