Olivia Coleman Asks Prince William If He Watches The Crown

‘The Crown’ is a groundbreaking show that explores the lives of the modern British royal family and the show has an all-star cast. Some people believe the show and its stars have actually helped humanize the royal family and increased their popularity, and recently the shows new leading lady had a chat with Prince William to see what he thought.
While Clair Foy led the show’s cast as Queen Elizabeth II in season 1 and 2, Olivia Coleman has most recently taken over the reins and is now the shows leading gal. Coleman brings her Oscar-winning acting skills to the role of everyone’s favorite queen. This new season presents a slightly different queen than fans are used to seeing and naturally the actress was interested to see what fans thought. When Coleman was seated next to Prince William at a dinner party recently, she couldn’t wait to find out what the Prince thought of the show.

Appearing on the Graham Norton show, Colemen described the exchange to a shocked audience and it was almost too cringe-worthy to hear. It had all started when the Prince, polite as ever, asked the actress what she had been working on. Coleman was beyond excited and she enthusiastically began to answer. However, before she had a chance to reply he put his hand up and interjected, making sure to cut off what she was going to say. “Actually I know what you are working on” he quickly said. Surprised by his response Coleman was unsure to ask any follow-up questions for fear of upsetting the Prince.
Eventually, Olivia could no longer contain her curiosity about whether any of the royal family had seen or watched the show and she then sheepishly asked the Prince ‘have you watch it?’. Still being polite the Prince gave her a firm ‘NO’, dashing all hope that the show had been a hit with the younger royals.

The actress described the rest of the dinner as quiet, and we imagine it must have been a little awkward sitting next to the future King after that.
