Chris Pratt has taken to social media to confirm his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger. To the surprise of his 22 million followers, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor made the announcement on his Instagram account sharing the message; “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” The caption was paired with an image of the couple embracing while Katherine wore a large diamond engagement ring.
Katherine is the eldest child of actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist and author Maria Shriver. The 29 year old is a published author and a proud animal rights activist. Both Pratt and Schwarzenegger share in a passion for Christianity that has helped to form the shared bond between the couple.
The pair have been quietly dating for a few months and have most recently moved into a shared LA home together. The 39-year-old actor split from his wife, fellow actress Anna Faris, in 2017. The couple’s surprise split after eight years together shocked fans. Pratt and Faris share one child together, a son named Jack, and continue to be friends. Faris even commented on the Instagram post to with her ex and his future wife her congratulations. She wrote, “I’m so happy for you both!”
